While sitting in the local coffee shop, John W. Vanderkolk and David Koudys, along with a few friends, decided to get into the water without getting wet.
Thus, the Endeavour Project was born. Being certified divers, John and Dave's love for water is apparent. They, again with their friends, have constructed one submarine, one underwater base, and are currently working on the highly anticipated second sub, Endeavour II (which, presumably, will be more successful in going down than the first
sub). |
So we get a few pieces of steel, a welder, and some copper tubeing and start making a submarine. |
We took the submarine to a marina in Grimsby, Ontario to launch it. It was a great afternoon, seeing the fruition of our labours floating in the water. |
Wait! It floated? Well, there was one problem with our submarine--it wouldn't sink. |
Pulling the sub out of the water. Getting ready to take it on the road. |

Now, alas, the Endeavour passes the seasons in the back yard, making a nice home for spiders and insects. Probably never see water again, unless it's in the form of rain. |
