It has to be said (since I had one previous run-in with the legal department of the LEGO company, but that's neither here nor there), that this page is in no way affiliated with the LEGO Company (Canada or otherwise) and is not endorsed by the aforementioned company.

Well, the firestation met with a calamity! I was going to rebuild it anyway |
After the rebuild, the firestation looks basically the same. I even built a firetruck for the station this time. The firetruck is almost a direct copy from this site--the site is full of awesome firetrucks!

All the firefighters are appreciating the rebuilt station.
The firetruck even fits under the archway, though just barely!
Oooops! Maybe we should have spec'd the firetruck before we built the building! The firetruck doesn't fit!
That's okay, someone on LUGNet recently inspired me to make my buildings in modules--Look how nicely it comes apart! Now I can just fix the sections that need fixin'!
It's easy to set up the firestation again!
And now the firetruck fits, after I expanded two walls. Talk about easy modifications! I'm sold!
The garage doors even close, and a minifig has room to walk around the firetruck inside!

Ever since I saw an article about this fire station in Toronto Magazine, I wanted to model the Fire Station No. 8.
The real firestation sits near Spadina on College Street, and is the oldest fire station still in operation in Toronto.
I took a few quick digital pics of the fire station one time when I was on a walkabout in the Big Smoke. Then the pics sat on my hard drive for a few months. Now I'm finally getting around to making the LEGO version.
My LEGO rendition starts off with just the tower. Me thinks it's a wee bit too tall, and I may shorten it later.
It's also whilst modelling actual buildings when you realize you don't have all the pieces you want, such as the corner 2x2 and 3x3 black slopes.
ANother sad fact about my LEGO collection (or lack thereof), it took me about 2 hours to find 6 useable fire fighters.
All in all, I hope the LEGO rendition of the fire station will be quite nice when it's done.

| Working on more than just the tower... |

Ahhh, mostly finished! (just have to do all the little details like... say... an interior! |
